Simple Cub Splitting Stand

Materials required:

2 pieces 3" X 3" x 36" structural angle iron
1 piece 3" X 3" x 60" structural angle iron
1 piece 1-1/2" X 1-1/2" x15" approximatley for an angle brace.
6 each 3/8" x 1-1/2" bolts, lock washers, and nuts.
4 each 5/8" NC 1-1/2" bolts with lock washers.

Method:

The mounting holes on the uprights are at 29" (lower hole) and 32.5" (upper hole) for a standard Cub. The holes have a 2" offset and are 5/8 diameter.

A piece of steel will need to be welded on the upright to locate the second hole, (not pictured). In the 60" base piece, the uprights need to be 15" apart, so position holes accordingly. A couple of holes for a small angle brace on one side need to be drilled as well. If you want additional stability, front to back bracing can be added.
